Nuclear Innovation Alliance submitted this Statement for the Record for the United States Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing on “The Infrastructure Needs of the U.S. Energy Sector, Western Water and Public Lands, and Consideration of a Legislative Proposal.” NIA strongly supports the proposed legislation which would build a strong foundation for advanced reactors to contribute to climate mitigation.

In conjunction with a new report on licensing fee reform at the NRC, the Nuclear Innovation Alliance hosted an event to discuss its findings. The webinar was moderated by former NRC Commissioner Stephen Burns, Senior Fellow at Third Way. It featured panelists Alex Gilbert of the Nuclear Innovation Alliance, Caroline Cochran of Oklo, and Peter Hastings of Kairos Power. It provides an overview of the report and develops ideas for fee reform to promote advanced nuclear energy innovation. The report can be found here: Report

A whole-of-society approach with collaboration between government, industry, civil society, and other nations can bring advanced reactors to market to reduce global emissions, provide domestic jobs, and support national security.

The Nuclear Innovation Alliance (NIA) and Partnership for Global Security (PGS) held a webinar event to release their new joint strategy "U.S. Advanced Nuclear Energy Strategy: for Domestic Prosperity Climate Protection, National Security, and Global Leadership." Based on stakeholder engagement, the strategy provides a roadmap for the United States to become a global leader in advanced nuclear energy. The webinar was moderated by Dean Scott of Bloomberg and hosted by NIA's Executive Director Judi Greenwald and PGS' President Ken Luongo. Judi and Ken were joined by Niko McMurray of ClearPath, Jessica Lovering of Good Energy Collective, and Jennifer Gordon of Atlantic Council. A copy of the report can be found here: Report
