Washington, D.C. The following statement may be attributed to Nuclear Innovation Alliance (NIA) President and CEO Judi Greenwald:
"NIA is excited to welcome Ashley Finan back to NIA as a senior fellow. Ashley was NIA's founding executive director and built the foundation of our 'think and do’ tank. She will advise us on new nuclear technology and regulation in support of our mission.
"Ashley earned a doctorate in nuclear science and engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as three other degrees in the discipline from the same institution. She is a global fellow at the Columbia University Center on Global Energy Policy and a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center. After leaving NIA, Ashley served as the chief science officer for National and Homeland Security and as the founding director of the National Reactor Innovation Center at Idaho National Laboratory.
"Ashley's experience and insight will be invaluable to NIA as we continue to support national efforts to create the conditions for success for new nuclear energy to play a major role as an energy security and climate solution."
The Nuclear Innovation Alliance (NIA) is a non-profit think-and-do-tank working to enable nuclear power as a global solution to mitigate climate change. Through policy analysis, research, and education, we are catalyzing the next era of nuclear energy. Our organization is funded primarily through charitable grants and philanthropic donations from climate-concerned individuals and organizations.
